lyrics

It was early one morning the sun sparkled gold
I'll never forget that summer,
I grew up on an island on the edge of the world
surrounded by salty water.

A mile from the shore a fishing boat worked
sailing across the ocean,
seagulls were diving back and forth
you could almost taste the freedom.

Oh I have grown I'm no longer
paddling those clear blue waters,
away from the shore time carries me
to brave the tide.

Oh wise is the one who thinks for himself
while observing the advice of others,
biting your tongue to please someone else
will only bring you sorrow.

Oh I have grown I'm no longer
paddling those clear blue waters,
away from the shore time carries me
to brave the tide.
